Went to the Blue Jay Bistro this evening and had a very enjoyable dining experience. Had the following: Oysters Clara - exceptional starter I give it 10 out of 10. Great crunch and creamy texture, balanced flavors, great taste - hard for me to tell that I was eating an oyster - so for those looking for an oyster forward dish may not be what you are looking for - but outstanding for my taste would definitely get again, highly recommend. Lobster & Masa Hushpuppies: Tasty and well balanced 8 out of 10. I am not the biggest hushpuppie fan overall - but nice starter. Main course: The short rib was very, tender, rich, and tasty…the hash that came with it was quite excellent as well. 9 out of 10. If I had any critique would be a bit less cacao (chocolate dust). If you like beef short rib you will not be disappointed. Desert: olive oil blood orange cake - I am not the biggest sweet fan, but I gotta hand it to the chef on this one 9.5 out of 10 beautiful presentation, tasty, complex, flavor explosion. Service was excellent 9.5 out of 10 - perfect timing between courses, attentive service, great recommendations. Restaurant was packed so drinks took a tad long (but I am being super persnickety) Summary - Honestly quite pleasantly surprised by how outstanding and enjoyable this dining experience was in Littleton, North Carolina. A bit blown away. Kudos, highly recommended for a special occasion or a date night. Next time we are nearby will definitely plan to come back!!!

This is the best restaurant in the area. The atmosphere is delightful. High ceilings and modern aesthetic. We ordered 2 shareables- Oysters Clara and Ham and Jams. The Oysters were crispy, tender, and were enjoyed by all. The ham and jams was hearty, good variety but some of the meats and crackers were too salty. The cornbread was the best part. We ordered the following entrees- short rib, hanger steak and pork chop. The portions were generous. The short rib was very tender and delicious. Brussels sprout were a great accompaniment. Hanger steak was ordered rare and was cooked perfectly. Very tender and great flavor. Pork chop was ordered medium and arrived that way. Very tender and vegetables and cherries were a nice touch. The bbq sauce was a bit over powering and not necessary. Mac n cheese had a little heat, fun and tasty. For dessert, we ordered Black Forest Cake which was rich, very chocolatey and a nice finish to our exceptional dinner experience. 2019 Timbre Pinot Noir was very good and reasonably priced. Service was excellent and attentive.

Honestly one of the best meals I’ve had in Nc Delightfully surprised at the phenomenal dishes served here in the sleepy little town of Littleton. The entire experience was wonderful from opening the front door to a beautiful long hallway that transports you to a very tasteful dining room. Nothing in here is run of the mill. Every detail is unique down to the water glasses. We had the signature blue bird toast and I highly recommend you try it at least once. The oysters were some of the best I’ve had in my life. Perfectly flash fired. The entrees and desserts blew us away. The service from Katie and her trainer Ian were top notch. They were very Knowledgeable about the menu and made our experience wonderful. Even the water waiter from Smithfield struck up a great conversation with us. They made us feel at home. We will definitely be back and I can’t sing the praises high enough. I grew up close to nyc and miss great food. This place is one of the best in Nc. Do not miss it.

We enjoyed an elegant birthday dinner for a very dear friend and everything was just perfect. Had bread starter. Very unique and delicious! Two had airline chicken, one filet, one pork chop-all cooked to perfection! Drinks were perfect as well. Finished with donuts and berry bread pudding. Utterly magnificent! Service was attentive without hovering. Enjoyed meeting Evan, the GM and getting to see the rest of the establishment. You can request the different areas of the restaurant when making reservations. They have a beautiful other room for larger parties and a beautiful back patio with heaters. Quiet back bar area was fully seated at bar with game on yet so peaceful and quiet and almost stately for a bar. Definitely worth coming here regularly.

Visiting Blue Jay Bistro was easily the best dining experience I’ve had in my entire life. You’re greeted by the most welcoming staff the second you walk in the door, and they ensure your visit is nothing short of perfect throughout your meal. The food, words can’t properly describe how incredible every plate of food was. The short rib was a dish I’ll dream of ordering again for years to come. The chefs dedication to using only the best tasting local ingredients shows and is an honor to this small town community. If you haven’t stopped into this wonderful establishment then I encourage you to do so, you will love of every second of your visit

We had an amazing dinner here while getting away for a long weekend. Everything from the design of the restaurant, to the service, drinks, and food were excellent. The quality of everything is as good as it gets, and while it's not cheap the prices were reasonable. We ordered the hams and jams starter and the short rib and pork chop entrees. It was probably the best pork chop I've ever had in a restaurant. Will definitely be recommending it and will be sure to come back the next time we're in the area.

The food and service is absolutely fabulous! This is one of the top restaurants we have ever eaten at. It's on par with Lemaire at the Jefferson Hotel in Richmond, Virginia and Elizabeth's on 37th in Savannah, Georgia. The dishes are intricately layered with delicious flavors and textures. Tyler was our server and he, along with anyone who came by our table, was absolutely delightful. My Birthday is coming up and I plan on celebrating here. Don't wait, make a reservation! You won't be disappointed ❤️

Hidden farm to table restaurant just a little over an hour outside the triangle area- Updating a review, we are big fans of Blue Jay. Have dined here both in 2022 + 2025 (recently). Chef Malcolm, Ryan, and their team members are incredibly passionate people in the industry. Each dish is beautifully presented and delivers tasteful unique flavor throughout each dish. Truly a dining experience worth the drive.

This place is excellent. The food is great. The service is great. It's an odd choice for such a high end restaurant in this sleepy little town but after talking to who I think is the manager, it sounds like the owner is really trying to improve this town. With this restaurant and the brewery(owned by the same person) its a step in the right direction. Littleton needs more places like this.

Fabulous fine dining in the Littleton area. Beautiful interior with lots of inside and outside seating options. Loved the meat and potatoes ap as well as the shrimp bisque and short rib entree. Best grits I've ever eaten. Our server and the general manager were very attentive without being annoying. Very nice wine selection. Can't wait to go back!

It is great to have such a nice restaurant in a small town, the atmosphere was perfect for our date night, you can be fancy or casual. The fillet was the best I have ever had. Be sure to have the chocolate donuts for dessert , be sure to ask for a spoon. The staff is very friendly and attentive. We definitely will go again!

Recently we had dinner to celebrate two birthdays. We had flounder and shrimp. Both were excellent and sides, sweet potatoes and risotto were very good. Our server, Julie, was attentive, answered all our questions and set the tone for an enjoyable meal. I would highly recommend the Blue Jay Bistro.
